The Conference on Sustainability in Engineering is a three day national conference facilitated by the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students (CFES), which aims to educate and encourage students to understand the importance of sustainability in engineering and their daily lives. CSE provides an open environment for learning, discussion, and interactions between students and professionals.
CSE 2020 will be the second annual conference in its series, hosted by the University of Waterloo. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Planting the Seeds for Sustainability’, with the goal of providing delegates with the opportunity to integrate sustainability into their future work and decision making as professional engineers. The conference strives to to make sustainability a priority throughout the organizational process when choosing locations, meals, and transportation in order to demonstrate how to integrate it into decision making.
At CSE 2020, students will have the opportunity to participate in workshops, technical talks, a LEED Green Associate course, case competitions, and to network with professionals and other students. The conference will be a great platform for students to share knowledge and experience for the purpose of incorporating sustainable practices in the field of engineering.
